| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2008 Thanks kmweaver. Was fortunate enough to receive two bottles to sample. Aroma is sweet totally reminiscent of a bakery, that is crazy. Sweet chocolate chip cookies. Taste is very sweet, lactose. Something different in taste like bread or yeast. Could be the whole donut icing and all right in there. Chocolaty and sugary. Overall delicious. michael-pollack (2693), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured brown in color with a dense, creamy, tan head that lasted throughout. Sparkling. Good lacing. Tastes of bitter chocolate, malts, a little fruit, and a little sour mix. Light to medium body. Thin, chalky texture. Lively carbonation. Dry, bitter chocolate finish. waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2008 12 oz. bottle @ liquid sunshine tasting - thanks to glkaiser; light brown, thin head; chocolate aromas mixed with touch of sourness; seems a little funky, but i like it; tastes like those cheap chocolate donuts you’d find at a gas station at midnight while on a road trip; nose is kind of off, but strangely decent nuplastikk (1197), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 1, 2008 12oz bottle...think I had a double chocolate stout bottle from them a few years back, assumably the same beer. I find this to be one of Shenandoah’s better offerings. Rich and smooth, medium bodied. Very creamy stuff, with a pleasant non-artificial chocolate flavor. Really gets bonus points from me for being so exceptionally balanced and drinkable. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 1, 2008 First off, this has to be just a novelty beer. No where in the nose or the smell does it resemble a chocolate donut. Pours a translucent brown in color. Smell is slight chocolate, but there’s another scent that is interfering with it. Can’t quite figure out what it is. Taste is thin, watery and again, not decadent chocolate. The only thing chocolate donut about this offering is its name.
Close to a drainpour. Hoping that I had a bad bottle, but nothing tasted "infected". Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of yobdoog. Pours a pitch black with a 2 finger tan head. Nose is sweet with chocolate, vanilla notes and a bit of booze. Taste is light butterscotch, milk chocolate and roasted malts with a slight bitter boozy aftertaste. This reminds me a little of a more mild ST Crème Brule. Medium mouth feel. Decent brew – thanks for the opportunity Trevor!
