Aroma is sweet, chocolate icing, some maple, coffee. Taste is moderately sweet, like a cross between a glazed chocolate and maple donut, faint cola. Light-medium body, moderately effervescent. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate donuts (is the donut really there or is it in my mind!) with some roast, and light caramel. Tastes of chocolate donuts, some caramel, light brown sugar sweetness, and roast. Reading some of the other ratings, I’m glad mine wasn’t sour! This one was different and I enjoyed it! bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Murky, very dark brown ale with a small, creamy, tan head. Smells like a chocolate donut; no shit. Sweet, rich, chocolatey flavor with lots of vanilla. Almost cloyingly sweet; couldn’t have more than one per sitting. Full-bodied and syrupy with lively carbonation. Finishes tangy and bitter-sweet. Excellent dessert beer! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Man, this is a weird one. Aroma is quite subtle, with a hint of cocoa. It really does taste like a glazed chocolate donut. Sweet icing sugar flavour over the chocolate. No bitterness and the palate is a bit thin, but it’s decent enough. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Sugary glazed chocolate and donuts in the nose, as advertised! Flavor is midly sweet with a bit of a perfumy sweet sugar note and lighter notes of toffee and chocolate. Tastes almost like a glaze at times but it’s a moderate sugariness and not simply a result of overuse of the malt. I have to say the flavor and finish are a bit disappointing, but it’s still a delectable dessert beer and I’ve never anything quite like it. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Bottle (Thanks Jake!) Pours a dark brown muddy color with no head. The nose has a dose of maple and sweet caramel and molasses, some toasty biscuit malts as well in the nose. The flavor has a nice chewy body and a rich chocolatey character. A bit overdone in the sweetness department because it’s not fried to offset it. Good experiment, I like the pizza beer better.
