From glkaiser. Thanks Geoff. Dark brown brew with a nice lasting foamy head. Aroma is pretty chocolatey with a little roast. Sadly I don’t get any donut. Chocolate, roast, a little salt, bread. Interesting chocolate bready notes. There is a nice chocolate essence that lingers. Might be a little thin. Has a smooth carbonation. Very interesting brew that I am glad I got to taste.

Dark brown pour. Small tan head. Very carbonated. Chocolate aroma but I don’t get any cake. Taste is of roasted chocolate. Maybe a little salt but the taste doesn’t live up to the billing.

12 oz bottle, via kmweaver. Pours a clear dark brown body under a fizzy light beige head that lasted quite a while due to the vigorous carbonation. The nose is nice and chocolaty, and it does actually have a bit of a cake-like note. Roast and coffee with just a little hint of burnt grain. The flavor is quite sweet with a good bit of chocolate syrup like flavor. Some lighter roastiness on the finish and a slight cola like flavor that seems a bit out of place. The palate suffers quite a bit from the very fizzy over active carbonation that makes it seem a little too thin. Overall, this was largely a marketing thing over a true taste experience. I’ve had lots of worse Stouts though, so I can’t complain too much.

Shared at the Carolina gathering. Pours a dark brown with no head. The nose is sweet, very sweet viscous chocolate, donut aroma definitely present. The flavor is very similar, thickly sweet, chocolatey, sweet donut. The mouthfeel is thick and sweet.

Dark pour with thick tan head. Aroma is reminiscent of a krispy cream donut shop. Malty backbone with definite chocolate donut flavors. Very unique and interesting

12-oz. Thanks, Blindeyedbetty! Pours black with a thick, towering, surging, very light tan head full of mousse and air bubbles. Sweet chocolate, prune, and a whiff of tart on the nose. The tart may or may not be a not-so-great sign. Watery, fairly thin body with heavily astringent, chalky semi-sweet chocolate notes. Very drying. Powdery finish. Odd. Kind of the opposite of refreshing, which certainly is fine, but I think this might be a little too far off in the direction of trying to resemble food and not close enough to the home base of trying to resemble beer. Drinkable enough, though, and interesting for sure.
