[The new version] An amber beer with a great head. The aroma is very faint malty. The flavor is malty sweet with hints of smoke and nuts. A fine beer - but not outstanding.

[The original version from 1998 sampled in 2006 - 9.2% ABV] An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood and caramel - and so is the flavor, while the mouthfeel is a bit sticky [7/4/7/4/15]

Bottled. Copper colour, foamy beige head, lacing. Fruitish aroma with weak bready hints. Also weak caramelly hints and very weak hints of alcohol. Flavour of sweet malt along with some breadish and roasted notes. Also some hoppy notes. Very smooth flavour and palate.

Strong, syruppy, nutty, sticky and for me, it wasn’t well balamced (alcohol evident), kind of had a nice flavour, but it was just to cloying, worth a try though.

Bottled, 500ml, 3.5yrs aged. Orange brown with short lasting head. Sweet vinous malty beer with a strong caramel note, quite toffee like with hints of treacle syrup. Any hop note has disappeared unfortunately, but leaving a reasonable pasteurised bottled beer.

Ligth amber coloured. Not much head. Has a sweet aroma with notes of chocolate. Flavour as well is vague chocolatish and mildly sweet. Is well balanced and has pleasant bitterness in the end.
