Commercial Description:
Available filtered and pasteurised in bottles and cans.
NOTE: Only ratings for the bottled vesrion should be entered here. The cask version has a separate listing.

Full-bodied with complex fruit flavours, Bishops Finger is a strong premium cask-conditioned ale brewed to a traditional Kentish recipe. What’s behind the name? Well, a Bishops Finger is an unusual finger-shaped signpost still found in Kent, which once pointed pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. Only the finest malted barley, Kent hops and fresh water from our own artesian well are used in the production of one of Britain’s best-loved ales, which is also exported in bottles to more than 30 countries worldwide.

Deep copper appearance, with a wispy white head. Earthy, hoppy aroma with a hint of citrus and sweet fruit. Medium bodied with an excellent hop and citrus flavour that finishes with a sweet caramel malt aftertaste.

Absolutely smashing beer! Pronounced caramel flavours, fruity, hay-like notes. Full-bodied beer with nice lingering vanilla flavours. Fairly tart, decent bitterness. Dark malt flavour. Long finish.

Fruity aroma, hint of vanilla? Very nice. Nice copper color with a a beigeish head that laces lightly. Starts malty, goes a bit fruit, stronger malt comes on. The finish however seems semi-dry, and it is definitely bitter.

Yum, yum. Worth its reputation - very hoppy, nice roasted malt flavours, lovely colour. Satisfying long dry finish.
