| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2009 many bottles from the LCBO. i actually had to go dig out my 2007 notebook after realizing i hadnt rated it and it was no longer availible at the LCBO. pours a light reddish brown with a white head. english malt nose, noble hopping. the flavour is of malt forward bitter. lightly fruity with backing hops. my major complaint was that it was imported in clear bottle which made buying this bitter a guessing game. Malty, toasty nose with dark fruit, raisins, dark bread and slightly dusty hops. Malty, slightly toasty taste with notes of wort bread, raisins, dark fruit ans slightly earthy hops in the finish. Medium body, firm but smooth mouthfeel. Balanced sweetness. Lacking some of the character of the cask version, but still a nice beer. floydian1 (290), FNQ, Australia

I can’t get it where I live so I have to travel 140 kms to the nearest nest large town to but it at a large liquor chain. It is well worth the trip each and every time.
