Commercial Description:
Available filtered and pasteurised in bottles and cans.
NOTE: Only ratings for the bottled vesrion should be entered here. The cask version has a separate listing.

Full-bodied with complex fruit flavours, Bishops Finger is a strong premium cask-conditioned ale brewed to a traditional Kentish recipe. What’s behind the name? Well, a Bishops Finger is an unusual finger-shaped signpost still found in Kent, which once pointed pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. Only the finest malted barley, Kent hops and fresh water from our own artesian well are used in the production of one of Britain’s best-loved ales, which is also exported in bottles to more than 30 countries worldwide.

Good strong flavour and great amber colour make bishops finger a great beer. Slightly creamy head and decent flavour make it hard to beat.

Reddish brown. Bit of hops in the aroma. Tastes a lot like the Spitfire, with more malt and hops in the flavour. Interesting flavour and feel to it, resiny perhaps.

Nice ruby-brown colour with a decent head. Nice nutty/toffee malt and citric hops in both the aroma and flavour. Body is a little weak, but the well balanced flavour makes up for that. Quite a good beer.

Overall not that bad. Darker in colour with no head. Caramel slightly in the nose but was very apparent in the taste. Not bad, easily drinkable

Beautiful dark amber beer with a lasting frothy head. Malty aroma with some lemon and burnt caramel. Bitter and lasting hop finish.

Beautiful full bright copper color, nice foamy almond head. The nose is lightly skunked at the front, but only at first-whiff. Nutty-almond notes in the nose, light sweet fruitiness, some roast and a light touch of caramel. Big citrusy and slightly woody hops at the front, fresh fruitiness and just enough malt to hold things in place. Long bitter hop finish. Nicely balanced ale, I always look forward to fall when we get some english ales around here. Nice work.

This is a very fine Kentish ale. Very well rounded. No overpowering flavor or aftertaste. Very good but I havent had it in a long time and will have to rerate.
