Great beer and the first time I’ve tried it on cask. Twice ass good as the bottled version that I have normally tried. Good aftertaste.

From cask at Charlies. Pours hazy orange with a copperish glare and an off-white head. Light hoppy and mild acidic aroma. Light sweet and mild fruity flavour. Ends with a decent bitterness and light fruity note.

Cask - Ye Olde Beverlie, Canterbury. The body of this ale is a clear amber colour with a thin and airy off-white head. Fairly sweet caramel malt aromas with floral undertones and a marginal basic hop tone. Flavour-wise, this beer tastes of caramel malts and an earthy hoppiness. A dry, slightly resiny hop finish and a clean, smooth mouthfeel with a light to medium body.

This ale seems to taste of everything - it’s sweet, lemony, hoppy, malty and burnt in taste, but above all strong - it’s 5.4% and tastes it. Similar to Neame’s Autumn Ale Late Red and nearly as good. Man this ale is good!

Cask at the Olde Market Tavern in Altrincham (near Manchester). Pleasantly surprised, I’m a staunch bitter is not my drink man. Nice dark brown/amber colour with a thick white head. Slightly bitter finish with hints of caramel. Not bad at all.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Olde Market Tavern.
Rich amber colour with a good white head. Slightly dry aroma with caramel, light spice and some grassy hops. The hops are much more upfront in the mouth. Bitter finish with good length eventually leaving a sweetish aftertaste. One of the better Sheps for sure and in tip top condition at the OMT.

[635-20070919] Cask @ The Anchor (Hastings, ES). Very mild aroma, not much there. Clear, dark red amber body with a long-lasting creamy white head and super thick lacing. Grainy, grassy hops flavour. Medium body is fairly rough and astringent. Does not blend alcohol that well.
