| A Brown Ale formerly brewed by Shepherd Neame Faversham, England
| |
SilkTork (3780), Rochester, Kent, England Apr 26, 2008 275ml bottle from Shropshire. Vintage 1989. Slight hiss on opening. Very dark brown colour with deep red shine. Smells of malt, damp wool socks, burnt gunpowder, cooking chocolate, fridge ice...fascinating and pleasant. Taste is woody with hints of chocolate. This is very nice. Easy drinking - light and refreshing, yet satisfying and compelling. Flavour is here, shifting around, never unpleasant, never overwhelming, always interesting. Hmmm , I could with more beers like this.
