Dark amber body, medium off-white head. Malty and sweet aroma, fruity, but with a unpleasant sourish edge. Malty and some spices, some bitterness in the end. Quite boring and bland.

2004:
Strong aroma of fruit and sweetness. Good contrasting bitterness and a pleasant taste. Decent beer.

Unremarkable.

2004 edition. Amber/ reddish colour with nice white head. Aroma has some sweet malts with notes of fruit. Flavor starts sweet and malty, ends in a dry hoppy bitterness. Palate is to thin.

Bottle, 2004 vintage. The colour is clear, deep copper red. The large beige foam sinks slowly to a finger thick layer.

The smell is a bit sourish, with lots of malt and some spices. It isn’t that strong, though.

The carbonation is soft and just right in strength.

The taste is quite sweet, but it develops into a fruity malty taste with a passing unpleasant metallic flavour. The aftertaste is more complex with a mild bitterness and notes of almonds, nuts, malt and a clear taste of raisins. The finishing taste is somewhat perfumed.

An OK Winter Wormer, but I had expected more from Shepherd Neame…

(on bottle 2004 edit.)Very light orange colored ale, looks and feel very watery, like all the brews I´ve had from the Shepherd Neame. Has an interesning nose, not at all like the x-mas brews I´m used to. Fresh apples, raisins, pomerans, strange combo, both fruity and spicy. The finish is mild and has a hint of cloves. Strangely light brew, but nice.

Bronze coloured ale, off white short head. Sourish aroma. Malty, nutty aroma with some underluing sourness. Fruit? Minerals? A touch of hops in the dry finish. Overall nice mild ale.

2004 bottle. Clear amber colour with a a large head which soon dissapates. At 6% I can taste some of the alcohol but it is balanced by the fruity malt and bitterness of the hops. OK but just not enough here for me to be called a Christmas ale.

2004 vintage. Nice amber color with a short brownish head. Aroma is fruity from peach, banana, pear and orange. Some nutty notes in it as well. Fruity, malty flavor balanced with a quite nice hioppiness. Mild finish.
