Bottled. Add Colour!! Soft mellow, rose petal, aroma. Softly sweet and broad in its appeal. Hoppy, yes, but not in an obvious way. Sweet, soft flavours, that caress the mouth and palate.

Vintage 2004. No head. fruity and hoppy. However malty finish. A bit annonymous. Quite mild beer, especially for a Christmas Ale.

Bottled vintage 2004, alc. 6.0% (BB 09/2005)
Red-copper-brown color, small white head. Aroma is fruity (water melon, apple and mango) with hint of hops. Medium-bodied, oily, apple juice -like palate, a bit flat. Sugar, mint fruits and herbal hops in flavor. Typical but mild English bitter aftertaste.
Re-rated, Vintage 2005, alc. 6.0%
Dark amber color, not much head. Oaky, metallic, hoppy nose, sweet nutty. Light, woody hoppy toffeish flavor. Not very Christmasy and just an ordinary English bitter. (6/3/5/2/10 2.6)

Vintage 2003.
Thin disappearing off-white head, clear amber reddish body. Malt, fruit and nut in the aroma. Quite sweet with toffee and pineapple tones. Flavor is mostly sweet with a bitter subtone. Malty and nutty with notes of brown sugar, candy and spices. Quite odd in the taste and really nothing special.

Reddish copper hue with a small white foamy head. Fruity aroma with melon tones. Typical Sheperd Neame crisp dryness about the flavour. A good balance of hop and malt with fruity tones. Another class beer from SN.

Bottle from Safeway, Shirley, West Midlands. Very light copper colour. Very see-through, with a patchy white head. Smells quite orangey, with candied fruit. Barley sugar sweetness, with ilttle in the way of flavour. Not too much going on here until the finish, which brings in some tart bitterness, an unpleasant mix of malt and lager flavour. Some floral gums notes, but this is rather plain - especially when the ABV offers room for manoeuvre.

Small bubbly/fizzy head. Amber-reddish colour. Fruity aroma. Soft and pleasent palate. Nicely balanced but unexciting taste.
