Bottle from The Co-Op in Derby, not bottle conditioned. Mid coppery Brown colour. Very full bodied, rich & fruity taste. An excellent beer :)

Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Sampled in January 2006. Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Fruity and caramelly aroma with subtle notes of figs and prunes, and floral tropical fruits. Medium bodied with creamy mouthfeel. Niceley balanced with a bitter edge. A personal favourite but not really a Christmas Ale.

50 cl bottle vintage 2005. No yeast in bottom. Amber colour with a weak head. Very nice aroma of fresh fruit with an overtone of ananas. A great fruity taste with some cacamel tones. Not bitter and dry, but have a long nice tasty finish.

A bit too pale to fit for the Christmas table, too fruity as well, but all the hops and subtle sweetness makes this one a very enjoyable ale anyway; but best on its own. Take something heavier for the Christmas meal.

Nut brown in colour with a complex mix of fruits.Very subtle aftertastes that include sultanas and other things that I couldnt quite identify. A sophisticated and pleasant christmas ale.

2004 Vintage: Poured a nice clear coppery hue with a initial frothy head which fades to a ring, some lace. The aroma is soft and inviting with a spicy, fruity and aromatic bitter nature. Nose also detected minor caramel malts and moderate phenols. The taste is pure Goldings hops with a nice balance of pale and toasted malting. The finish is a sharp note of alcohol, bitters, and spice. The feel is quite lively and refreshing, not much depth however. Overall, it’s a beer of quality and is enjoyable. I had always thought well of Shepherd Neame offerings, this didn’t change that perception.

2004 vintage. Nice amber color with a short brownish head. Aroma is fruity from peach, banana, pear and orange. Some nutty notes in it as well. Fruity, malty flavor balanced with a quite nice hioppiness. Mild finish.
