Puddingy sweet beer with heavy fruity and caramel notes. Mixed spices and raisin type fruit throughout, lacks a finish apart from lingering fruity sweetness. Its fine as a fireside beer. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 14, 2006 500ml bottle from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. Amber colour with lasting off white head. Shep yeast and rich fruit aroma. Too much boiled sweet malt. Relatively good strong bitter hop finish. Interesting mix of raisiny candy sugar and strong hop. Curiously likeable. Candy sugar is a bit too obvious. Shame really as the rest is pretty good. Raisiny cherry plum fruit and good bitter hop finish. Some caramel. skortila (2907), Bunnik, Netherlands
