Bottled. Clear amber, creamy head. Orangey perfumy aroma. Sweetish and caramelly. Evident perfumy orangey hops swim in toffee. Finishes with mediu mbitterness and some warming alcohol.
Earlier Rating: 11/28/2007 Total Score: 3.3
Bottled. Nut brown, firm head. Perfumy, flowery hops up front. Sweet with clean mouthfeel. Solid, fruity nutty malt lies behind a good amount of perfumy hops. Uncomplicated, but full flavoured and quite good.

Dark orange. not much head.Agressive bite of alcohol and sugar. Fruity and hoppy, caramel and raisins. Lingering aftertaste. Goes well with xmas food. Not really something to sip on in front of the fire. Previous xmas ales has been better.
Earlier Rating: 12/11/2007 Total Score: 3.5
Stiff head. Light brown. Nice aroma and rich flavors of caramel and coffee but a bit too apparent alcohol.

Bottled. Clear amber with a smallish head and some lace. Aroma of strong, stingy-herby hops and some citrus fruitiness. Buttery-malty, caramely flavor with sweet graininess emerging in the middle, followed by dryish, citrusy-herby hops. Alcohol is well hidden, but slightly warming. Medium body with slightly fizzy-foamy carbonation. Once again, quite similar to everything else from this brewery - and no signs of Christmas besides the label.

Bottle from Lidl. Amber with white head. Very easy drinking forit’s strength. Very "Sheps" in flavour but smoother and more refined than is usual. Very good for pasturised bottled ale.
