Bottle. The colour is clear amber; the airy foam forms a one finger thick head.

The smell is very fresh, reminding me more of a fine lager than an ale. I noticed flavours of mint, mild malts and some honey.

The carbonation is balanced and fresh.

The taste is first malty and balanced with fruity notes, a mild bitterness and a full-bodied flavour that was all over my whole mouth. The next wave of flavours got notes of a fresh bitterness, flowers, and cucumber (yes!). There is a soft metallic dry touch to the bitterness. All those tastes are perfectly balanced. The great aftertaste got some honey, a clear and distinct taste of a kind of hops that I just couldn’t describe properly – I have probably never experienced it before; the aftertaste is very long, and it finishes with some pleasant flavours of diacetyl and fresh fruit drops.

Absolutely one of the best ales that I have encountered so far!

Crisp, clean, great nose and a hop bite and aroma to die for. A pip out of the bottle, a dream come true as you sit in a pub savoring an Imperial pint.

Applejuice colored, lasting head. Dry and very hoppy. Apparent bitterness well balanced by the dimunitive caramel and grassy resin sidetones.

Reddish amber beer with a toffee/caramel and deeply alcoholic aroma. The flavour is a well hopped watery effort. Overall a good strong spring ale.

Amazing hop aroma and flavour, a bit too light in body to stand alone. Perfect with food though. Very refreshing, very good overall.

They say "an early bird catches le worm" and this Neame Spring ale does thus. It’s a light brown/amber in colour and, for me, tastes like it looks - light, citrusy refreshing and slightly creamy. Very refreshing - bring on the Spring says I!

Bottle from Swedish "Systembolaget".
Golden color, big head that’s creamy and a bit yellow. Lots of fresh cutrus hops in the scent, probably dry hopped. Good bitterness and a very refreshing hoppy taste.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. One of my favourite Sheps beers. Copper colour with rocky off white head. Beautiful hop flower aroma and Sheps yeast. A bit of a star this one. Some biscuit. OK in mouth but not with the fullness of the cask version. Superb hop flavour on end. Some caramel.
