Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Pale gold with healthy white head. Full of fresh tasting goldings bitterness but well balanced by a smooth maltiness.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes in Wetherspoons BF ’08. Pale gold. Very slight buttery aroma. Pleasant grassy, strawy taste with some bitterness. Not really my thing, but quite enjoyable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton A light gold coloured beer with a loose white head. The aroma has some slight lemon and soap which carry forward into the mouth. It’s ordinary and acceptable.

A Mes rate: cask at the Crosse Keys ’Sporks.
Attractive gold colour with a thin white head and good condition. Decent Fuggles all round. Nice fruity malt and a balanced fruity finish. Likable but straight forward and hard to get excited about.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading.] Amber with a thin cream head; spicy hop aroma; creamy mouthfeel, with some chewy malts; gently bitter and slightly spicy to finish. Pleasant but unexciting.

Cask - ’Spoons, Canterbury. Pours a clear copper colour with a golden tinge to it and a smooth, small white head. Typically SN in all aspects, but not entirely derivative. Dusty hoppy aromas mingled with some caramel and vanilla. Flavour-wise, there are simple hop notes as a backbone, with more vanilla and a toffee quality coming through. Dry and spicy finish, with a chewy mouthfeel.

From cask at Standing Order. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fully gone head. Mild spiced and slight malty towards minimal butterish aroma. Bitter and hoppy flavoured with a mild butterish note. Ends spiced and medium dry.
