Sep 13, 2006 Cask somewhere during my Southwark pub crawling. Clear copper, small white head and good lacing. Unsweetened toffee, tree branches and light peppery finish. Well made but boring. Can we just forget about this Kentish beer like we have forgotten the Kentish english dialect.

Golden coloured hoppy and fruity flavour. Slightly creamy on the palate. Bitter lasting malt finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Bankers Draft JDW, Sheffield 29/11/2008 (ABV 4.4%)
Hoppy aroma. Golden coloured smooth on the palate fruity and a little sweet. Some dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Oct 9, 2005 May, 2005. JDW, Rochester. Fresh, delicate and very tasty. Malt is fat and juuicy, yet not greasy or clinging, nor too sweet. The hops are crisp, aromatic yet soft and teasing. This is one of the best Shep’s beers I’ve had.

May 16, 2005 Cask @ County Hotel (JDW) Ashford. Caramel in colour, Shepherd Neame distinctive yeast nose and citric nose. Malty caramel and fullish in mouth with slightly dry finish, slightly earthy. For a Sheps beer, I quite liked it

May 14, 2005 Cask Conditioned at a JDW. Orange amber beer with bubbly white head. It’s surprising that Sheps have retained this beer just for JDW Festivals, much more could be made of it. There is a dusty hoppiness throughout, the same flavour you get from chewing a hop bud, perhaps a little overwhelming, but it is definitely Fuggles. A light crisp base to carry the flavour, which it does well. On the drier side, very enjoyable.

May 11, 2005 Wetherspoon’s Beer Festival. Wow! This is an awesome pint. Best Sheps I’ve ever had. Everything is damn wonderful. Great malt. Great hops. Great balance. very drinkable. An absolute joy. A ripper zipper!
