Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
"A distinctive, mid-brown bitter ale, with all the hoppy aroma you'd expect of a beer brewed in the heart of the hop country. Well balanced, with a taste that's been described as "wonderfully aggressive, tinged with sweetness". "

Cask @ GBBF: Almost smoky with loads of wood and horse food flavoured hops.

A good well balanced bitter, which I drink regularly at the Coach and Horses and other pubs in Whitstable. Always consistent and satisfying, if never outstanding.

Full pint, cask in fine condition enjoyed outside the Shepherd Neame pub Bloomsbury Tavern. Deep clear amber. Naked surface. Dark, mid-sweet malts to the nose. Slightly roasted caramel malty flavour. Satisfying bitter endnotes. Rounded mouthfeel. Quite well bodied for the low alcohol strength (London, 03.08.2009).

Cask @ Bloomsbury Tavern, London. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose of malts, and fruity hops. Flavour is quite hoppy and fruity.

Cask-conditioned at the Freemasons Arms, London, 07/06/09. Deep amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Slightly sweet bitter, with plenty of fruit and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Ok.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Bloomsbury Tavern. Rich golden brown with a thin off white head. Have they changed the recipe of this? I don’t recall it being this hoppy. Good citric fruity stuff on the top with some decent supporting breast malt. A pleasant nutty note to the finish and a lightly dry feel. Not amazing but better than I remember it. Sheps are definitely getting better.
