omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 26, 2008 Bottled. Dark brown, small beige head. Light coffeea roma. Dryish with light to medium body. Some licorice and coffee - though it feels more like the watery American kind of coffee. A bit light overall, but strict and correct. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 17, 2007 My Bottom Line:
The portly caramel maltiness of this Porter lifts the brazen roastiness and almost drops it into vegetal territory, but grapey fruitiness and further roasty dryness assure its complexity and drinkability.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the reddish dark brown.
-The caramel component even reaches molasses at times.
-Vague hoppiness accompanies the finishing roastiness.
-This isn’t their best recipe by far, but it’s still well crafted and perfectly drinkable.
Bottle. Eyedrinkale (3111), Beer Town, New York, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours with an enormous light tan head. Aroma is light cocoa and brown crayon. Nice lively mouthfeel, more on the hoppy, side then the creamy side. Theres a light coffee flavor as well. This borders on being a very good beer with a few flavor tweaks. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottle from Tanakaya store in Tokyo. A respectable porter: plenty of malt body and some crisp, bitter hops with rich, lingering mouthfeel. Quite sweet for the style - lovely!! ante (2525), Stockholm, Sweden May 10, 2008 Bottled, thanks goes to yhe omh-crew. Pours out in a cloudy dark brown colour with a creamy tan-coloured foam. deep aroma of roasted malts, molky chocolate, cocoa, mild smoke and molasses. Medium-bodied with creamy and well-intergrated flavours of nuts, cocoa-powder, coconut and milky chocolate. Sweet coffee, nuts and dark chocolate in the medium-bitter aftertaste.
