| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Bottle from Sam’s. Clear brown with small off-white head. Nose of bread, caramel, and a bit of vanilla. Tastes quite disappointing... like a regular Shiner Bock mixed with a Doppelbock and some water. One of the brewery’s better offerings, though. Not terrible. LinusStick (1850), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Blah. Terrible beer. Aroma was nice. Strong caramel malt and mollasses. Pour was a beautiful red but no bubbles or head. Taste was like liquified caramel water. There was not a hint of carbonation in this beer which is a shame because it would have made it a lot better. nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a mahogany with a medium white head that quickly dissolves. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and toast. Sweet to the taste. Pretty well balanced and a nice medium body. One of Shiner’s finer brews. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, light brown, fully diminishing.
Body is dark brownish-amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs, orange).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation.
Not too bad for Shiner. Very simple and plain, but no glaring problems. unclemattie (2433), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2009 12oz twist-off bottle Pours a clear, reddish- brown, mahogany color. Tall, light tan foamy head. Aroma of sweet malts, light mustiness, and nice grassy hops. Sweet malty goodness. Tastes like a latin malta drink. Full of B vitamins, complex carbs, and refreshingly sweet goodness. Flavor of this beer is just that. Sugary sweet dark malt flavor, very light herbal hop character, lots of malt. Very sweet and refreshing. Lots of malt flavor, toasted caramel is very dominate. Chipper (188), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Mahogany color with a moderate of-white head. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavor is sweet, but clean. Not my favorite style, but decent stuff. adavis234 (137), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful amber brown with a relatively small off-white, almost tan head. Roasted, woody malt aroma. Taste begins with the smoky wood of the aroma but transitions into a sweet, crisp finish. I’m pleasantly surprised by this beer. Quite good, and not expensive at all.
