Before my hiadias i had a chance to have a six pack of this at my cousins wedding. Either it was the atmosphere or the beer that was very good.

A solid "3" beer if ever there was one. 12 oz. brown longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a orangish/copper color, with a sticky, off-white head. Aromas are of fresh cut hay, slight breadiness, and earthy hops. Slightly fruity, also slightly sweet. Flavors are same as the aromas. Medium mouthfeel, slick, not astringent. Decent effort on the style.

Bottle courtesy of kaggie97, Thanks Kevin! : Small, fizzy white head thats short lived, lacing is nil. Clear, copper color. Nose is grainy, doughy. Med/light body. Lightly sweet malts, a touch of butterscotch and a light fruitiness. Finish is lightly sweet.

Clear amber, small, rapidly collapsing white head. Subtle sweet caramel aroma. This sure tastes a little odd. Maple syrup sweetness with little to no hop balance. Light body, but not watery, and tingly carbonation. Predominately sweet finish with an almost undetectable hop bitterness. Not the best example of a Marzen.

Cork and Bottle Liquors (formely Marcello’s), Baton Rouge, La. - 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice rich copper color with a thick, long lasting sticky off-white head. Aroma is bready and sweet, some molasses and ripening vegetable notes. Flavor has some caramel sweetness, a bit of overripe pumpkins and cotton candy. Fiinishes somewhat strong - turns just a tad bit cardboardy near the end however. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick. Overall, decent.

This was kind of underwhelming from the outset....starting to lose some respect for this brewery. This is a limited batch brew?? Aroma is bready, yeasty. Taste almost awful...sour malts of little note and no hop bite at all.

(12oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop a clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, cookie. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some cookie, light metallic. Light-medium body, light acidity. Not bad, but lacks the characteristics of what I think of as a marzen.

2/1/06 (bottle): Poured with a big fizzy head over a dark golden body. Highly carameled aroma. The flavor is sappily sweet, reminding me of apple schnaps ... not really diggin’ this as a maerzen.
