Decent white foamy head that lasts a bit. Aroma is corn and some citrus. Tastes metallic. Some yeast and sweetness -- crisp finish due to slight carbonation. Otherwise seems pretty plain to me. Decent buzz though. BeerandBlues2 (3223), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2005 12-oz. bottle. Pours brass with loads of tiny fast-rising bubbles and a small diminishing off-white head; some falling lined lacing. Light caramel malt (meal, cereal) and cardboard yeast (horse blanket) aroma and faint fruit (apple) hops. Light roasted caramel malt sweet yeast flavor with apple hops and a sour to bitter finish. Light to medium bodied and smooth, very drinkable palate. beerinmarch (2810), Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2005 Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Sweet up front with a balanced hop finish. Malts start with a light hint of caramel and light toast, then dry out and finishes with a grassy hop finish. My only complaint was this beer felt very thin on the palate, really felt watery, but other than that not a bad beer. Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2005 From the bottle, pours a clear golden amber with a quickly disappearing thin white bubbly head. Aromas of malt extract and some caramel. Tastes like it smells. Some caramel, dark malts, and just a hint of citrus and fruits at the end. I like this one. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 7, 2005 Looks pretty, but appearances can be decieving, now can’t they? Smells almost like the malt extract syrup I use for homebrewing. Tastes that way too. Way too sweet and cloying, not balanced. After I rated it I finished the glass off with a plate of cheese and crackers. This isn’t as bad when you consume it with salty foods. I’m a sucker for a good Oktoberfest but this is just not very good. bourne (161), Suwon, South Korea

Sweet, almost candy-like flavor with pumpkinspice and good malt flavors. Rather cloying finish. OK Marzen. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Aroma of buttered yams. Light orange color capped by a massive fuffly, white head. Very nice sweet malty profile with a bit of a sweet buttery (again) vegtal mash finish. I rather liked this and am suprised byt he low rating. I think it is a very tasty and distinct Marzen.
