Bottle. A toasted malt and sweet cherry/amaretto aroma. Reddish amber with small head. Sweet corn and barley flavor with a mild bitter finish. A bit cloying but really a good facsimile to its German brothers.

12 oz bottle: Slightly hazed light amber w/a lasting off white colored medium sized head. Slightly floral hop and grainy malt aroma. Hints of toasted bready malt, but very weak. Some wisps of sulphury yeast. Well balanced, and lightly toasty in flavor. No hop, very clean, smooth flavor, but a bit on the bland side. Reminiscent of a typical bland lager with some toasty overtones. Finish is a bit malty flavored and on the semi sweet side w/ a near lifeless aftertaste. Highly carbonated, lighter but not watery body, and some carbonic bite on the tongue. Overall just like a typical macro lager, but with a bit more flavor, and I stress a bit.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a large frothy white head that is lasting. Average wheat malt aroma. Medium body. Moderate bitter light sweet flavor with a small bitter finish of average duration. Below average but interseting brew.

Aw, the memories of the little brewery in Shiner (pre-Gambrinus). Anyway, they’ve made an average, drinkable marzen with plenty of sweet malt, maybe too sweet. Nice tight white head atop an orangey/amber color.

Not the best effort from Spoetzl. Drinkable, nevertheless. Thin head . Thin body. Thin color. Pleasant on the tonjgue, but overall, remarkably unremarkable.

Poured with small off white head that was mostly diminishing. Exhibited no lacing. Body is clear with no particles and a amber/orange color. Nose was of grain, honey, and soap. Initial flavor was light and sweet with finish being bitter and slightly acidic. Finish didn’t last for very long. Body was light to medium and a little watery with a medium amount of carbonation. It’s an OK beer, but not that great really.

Bottle: Translucent orange, moderate off-white foamy head, lively carbonation, spotty lacing.   Grainy cereal aroma.   Grainy malt base, slight cardboard, not very appealing.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly moderate tho.   Similar finish, slight overcooked vegetables emerging.   Blech...
