arkurzynski (89), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2009 Pours dark brown - a little light in my opinion - with very thin head. Aroma is light roasted malt. Mouthfeel very thin. Some roasted flavor. Sprecher Black Bavarian blows this out of the water. beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 20, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with blutt59. Pours a very deep clear reddish brown with a moderate-large tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left scant lace. Mild aroma of malt and bittersweet chocolate. The flavor is weak malt and weak, watered down bittersweet chocolate. Thin, watery body. I’ve had an opportunity to drink a few different schwarzbiers recently, and this one is the weakest example of any I’ve had. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2009 Like coca-cola, thin and a little grapey, fizzy but fleeting. A little thicker than most lagers. Bottle from Knightly Spirits, Orlando. troopie (851), USA Oct 6, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with thick fast dissipating beige head. Faint malty aroma. Medium flavour, some roast, some toast. A mild malt finish. Not bad, but there are better schwarzbiers around. A point in its favour is it’s cheap. vomit (65), USA Oct 6, 2009 Ahhh, something, dark, something smoky. Something, that is not Blatz. If this style is your style may I suggest something a little more stylish? Grab a few Blatz (8,10,12, whatever) throw it in something fireproof, drop in some iodine (for that dark color you want) and light your house on fire, leaving the container in the inferno. That’s what this beer is all about (but pricier than the Blatz). Think about it, don’t question it. And relax. Decent beer, if you are into that sort of thing. mcjay (301), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Oct 5, 2009 Pours dark with a thin, fizzy tan head. Slight aroma of coffee. Taste of dark chocolate with a grainy flavor. Thin body and a dry finish. jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 3, 2009 (bottle). Black color. Medium tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Light burnt malt flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Thin texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.
