Commercial Description:
A Bohemian Black Lager is a rare and delicious style of beer, referred to in Germany as "Schwarzbier". Shiner Bohemian Black Lager remains true to this old-world style by using imported Czech Saaz and Styrains Hops and select roasted malts to make it our darkest beer. First brewed to commemorate our 97th anniversary, this Bohemian Black Lager remains true to the old-world heritage of the German and Czech immigrants that settled Shiner. Prosit!

NOT THE WORST BEER IN THE WORLD... ...but freakin close Like sucking on metal shavings. No depth, no savor, no enjoyment. I’d rather have Miller Lite, and that’s saying a lot.

Not bad, but not great, smooth and creamy and very drinkable. There is just not much substance to it. Has very light hints of chocolate and cocoa, perhaps some roasted coffee. Overall its very thin on the palate.

Very dark pour with a nice slow bubbling head. I got a nice surprise here. Rich flavor with just hints of coffee and a sweet almost bubblegum like taste. I didn’t know what to expect and after drinking the bottle I still know how to describe it. Need a second bottle. And gosh I hate it when that happens….

bottle - Pours dark brown and smells mainly of a lightly roasted chocolate malt. It has a sweet roast malt flavor with a hint of dark fruit. This beer has a too thin body and finishes lightly sweet. Not bad.

Poured from bottle. Looks just like Coca-Cola but the head doesn’t last as long - after a minute it was totally gone with almost no carbonation visible. I couldn’t detect much of an aroma. It was sweet and tasted like weak burnt coffee. It was pleasant to the mouth but the burnt taste was just a tad too strong.

One of the better beers Shiner has produced. Dark and strong. with a crisp aftertaste, though it does not do well warm and should be drank slightly chilled.

Weak and skunky. I expected better. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.
