Commercial Description:
A Bohemian Black Lager is a rare and delicious style of beer, referred to in Germany as "Schwarzbier". Shiner Bohemian Black Lager remains true to this old-world style by using imported Czech Saaz and Styrains Hops and select roasted malts to make it our darkest beer. First brewed to commemorate our 97th anniversary, this Bohemian Black Lager remains true to the old-world heritage of the German and Czech immigrants that settled Shiner. Prosit!

Austin, Tx. - Harlons - Airport - 12 oz bottle . Somewhat neutral aroma with a hint of licorice and coffee. Dark brown cola colored pour with no head. Flavor has some chicory notes. licorice, a bit of day old coffee. Not bad at all. Mouthfeel somewhat thin - but true to stlyle. Would drink again.

Why do I have the feeling these people think Bohemia is in Germany? Bottle. Sweet hard roast, slightly burnt with artificial sweetener. Cola pour with a noisy and soon fizzed-out soil brown head. Taste is sweet with lingering roast and nuttiness, a little toffee and Sweet ’n’ Low in the bg. Grainy and a bit coarse. Medium body more on the lightish side, some caramel and dirty sugar water. In Leipzig I would have called this an alcopop.

its look nice but the aroma is too unpleasant. Palate is too thin and everything feel under appreciated. barely worth your time.

An acidic aroma, similar to that of something found on the ground after a long night on Bourbon Street. A nice looking beer- very dark brownish red with VERY little head. Getting a very yeasty flavor, some roasted malt.. actually.. BURNT malt is more like it. Very thin palate. Icky. I used the word "very" a lot.

The aroma is oddly fowl and acidic with trashy chocolate malt and grassy hops. The appearance is brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma but the aftertaste is porter like. The palate is thin. Overall I don’t want another.

Not bad. nothing special but overall nothing bad either, my first from Shiner, and I guess I would be willing to drink others from them.

Clear dark brown-black pour with a foamy tan head. Light aroma of roasted malts. Sweet roasted malt and light chocolate flavor. Thin bodied. Drinkable, but not great.

It poured a very dark brown with a chunky brown head that dissipated quickly. Not much exciting as far as aroma is concerned, a little maltiness. The flavor is nice, but nothing over the top, some rich chocolatey, roasty notes. Not much to mouthfeel. It’s a good beer, but just wasn’t too crazy about it.
