Commercial Description:
A Bohemian Black Lager is a rare and delicious style of beer, referred to in Germany as "Schwarzbier". Shiner Bohemian Black Lager remains true to this old-world style by using imported Czech Saaz and Styrains Hops and select roasted malts to make it our darkest beer. First brewed to commemorate our 97th anniversary, this Bohemian Black Lager remains true to the old-world heritage of the German and Czech immigrants that settled Shiner. Prosit!

Bottle. Pours clear dark cola brown with garnet lights and a lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted nuts with a bit of chocolate to prop it up. Medium body and carbonation. Sort of starts creamy and finishes watery, with some brown sugar, and coffee in the mix. The finish wants to be crisp, but doesn’t quite get there. Not a bad little beer, though.

Bottle from my boss! Pours dark cola brown with cola like retention. Roasted malt aroma, some chocolate notes. Fruity, malty taste with subtle coffee notes. Creamy mouthfeel.

Dark black pour no head. Let this one warm up - not too good cold. Once warm (room temp) a strong chocolately/toffee taste come forward. Easy to drink, great dark session brew.

Reddish copper with a large beige head that sticks around for a bit. Aroma of Saaz hops, spice, light sweet malts and caramel. Watery yet creamy body that has a light caramel taste and finished a touch dry. Mainly malted with little to no hop characteristics.

beer pours to a dark tan foam that quickly dissolves, is pitch black and very little aroma to it, very faint smell of roasted malts, very thin beer and rather flavorless to me, aftertaste was the only plus, quite refreshing

Pours a light black color with very little head. Tastes a bit thin and very flat. No real flavor to note. If you like their bock, this is a drinkable but lesser beer.

I like this one, and I’m glad they made it a regular. Pours dark as Coca-Cola, little to no head, thick smoky flavor. Strong roasted sensation, almost coffee like. A little watery. Not bad, though.
