Commercial Description:
A Bohemian Black Lager is a rare and delicious style of beer, referred to in Germany as "Schwarzbier". Shiner Bohemian Black Lager remains true to this old-world style by using imported Czech Saaz and Styrains Hops and select roasted malts to make it our darkest beer. First brewed to commemorate our 97th anniversary, this Bohemian Black Lager remains true to the old-world heritage of the German and Czech immigrants that settled Shiner. Prosit!

Pours a dark brown and black color with a thin tan film of head. Aroma is heavy odark roasted black patent and with a light late smokiness. Beer has a solid roasted flavor, light sweetness, coffee, caramel, and smoke notes also in there. Light body and low carbonation. Overall a bit light on the mouth feel but a decent flavorful beer.

a light mouth feel beer that is a let down of expectation. A smokey coffee and wood sense that dissolves away after the initial sip. A disguised light beer.

Black pour with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, typical shiner yeast. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, some smoke, heavily filtered, Thin mouthfeel, a bit fizzy, Not really worth revisiting.

A very smooth and drinkable dark lager. Tasted very nutty with a hint of smoke. For the money, I would probably get a more legit dark beer next time.

Smells of alcohol - the mark of a lesser cheaper beer, usually. The appearance is dark and pours with a short-lasting white head. The flavor tastes of roasted malts, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Pretty disappointing brew here. Probably best when served ice cold.

Bottle. Shiner night while watching the Rangers on TV. Pours dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Meaty smoke aroma, with some coffee-ish roasted malts. Similar taste. Bitter roasty finish with a slightly weird astringent mineral note. Still waiting for Vicente Padilla to hit someone with a pitch.

Black pour, fizzy head that doesnt stick around. Smell is of bitter coffee and fresh peeled potatoes. Taste is marginally better, being of some coffee and maybe a hint of chocolate.Finish is kinda meh.

Sampled from the Shiner FAmily Reunion 6 pack: Poured a dark brownish black colour with a big fluffy tan head. Can’t get beyond the metallicy taste however. Little bit of coffee, little bit of toffee and im sure it’s something im wrong with- but pancakes are coming out of this brew.
