| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Poured dark brown with very little head. The aroma was light smoke, roasted malts and a touch of spice. The flavor wasn’t as good, with the smoky, roasted malts giving way quickly to a slightly off-putting citrus or sour flavor that didn’t fit in all that well. Thin body. elgiacomo (101), Chickamauga, Georgia, USA

Appearance is a almost opaque black with a thin tan head that goes away quickly. Taste is caramel malts, coffee notes, roasted notes, and a continued breadiness. Aftertaste has a lingering malt characteristic that is enjoyable. Overall, nice brew from Shiner a very enjoyable Swartzbier. Cheers! ksbeerkid (28), Emporia, Kansas, USA
