12oz bottle. Light and transparent yellow-gold colored. Head quickly fades away. Peppery hoppy taste of the Hallertau dominates. While plain and standard in some ways simply due to the style, the beer still manages to have some interesting subtle malt and yeast flavor to it. Crisp up front hoppiness fades into malt sweetness. Pretty good beer.

Straw yellow color with faint white head. Light grainy aroma with faint hops. A similar lightly hopped body.

Clear pale yellow, little head. Sweet grainy malt aroma with honey and mild noble hops. Too sweet in flavor for me with a little DMS and OK maltiness. Good mouth feel with nice body and carbonation.

Golden pour with nice whiate head. Nose of bread, sweet malts, honey and some corn. Flavor is a bit sweet, but has nice hop presence...easy drinking with good carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of zinister. Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of biscuits, toast, some tea. Tastes slightly perfumy with some spice, light pepper, caramel, touches of sugar. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is lightly sweet and sugary.

So this is really two different beers. The one out of the bottle is over carbonated, and loses significant flavor. The beer out of the keg is more flavorful, and hints at sweet, while still announcing the hops. Was ’good’ not ’great’. Helles is German for ’bright’ or ’light’, and it delivered a bright, light beer. Good for summer lawn mowing, or ball games.

Just an ok brew. Pours piss yellow with a small head. Taste is of corn and light malt. Very small hop influence.
