Nose is some corn wheat honey and bitterness. Taste is soft and wheat like with some honey. Very sub par. Droptank (79), Spring, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Updated: Oct 25, 2008I very much enjoyed this beer. I felt the aroma was nice and tasted exactly as I thought it would due strictly to this. The taste itself was mild and a bit malty, however the sweetness of the brew stayed on my palate long after I had finished the drink itself. This could be good or bad depending on your specific tastes. For the fans of the Helles style, this is definately a must try. I desperately hope that Shiner adds this to the regular lineup! zombywoof (358), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Gold color with a brief head. Minimal lacing. Aroma of grass, sweet malt and grain. Malty with hints of sweet corn. Carbonation is too lively and intefers with the palate-which in this case may not be a bad thing. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 2, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a golden color with an even white head. Good lacing. Aroma of grass and sweet malts. Sweet corn dominates the flavor. Light malts give the beer a crisp finish. High carbonation level doesn’t help the light palate much. I’ve had much better examples of the style, but I didn’t think it was nearly as terrible as everyone else thought. djd07 (740), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a small off white head. The aroama is wheat grass and a bit skunky. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is corn and malt. Not too much going on with this one. KAggie97 (2457), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours an average yellow-food-coloring-yellow with a slowly dissipating head of foamy white cumulus cloud. Aroma is candied corn and hay with chunks of Rice Crispy treats thrown in the mix. Flavor is deplorable; rotten grass, stale hay, freezer-bitten corn, and salty sweet syrup. Palate is watery and forgettable. Disgusting. Please don’t drink this. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Pours a late sunset gold colour .... a truly gross aroma emanates from my glass ... some foam buts disappears in minutes ...Taste is messed up and too muddled for me to carry on.... A HUGE disappointment!
I know i am being a bit harsh on this one, but it really seems to lack pride... that being said, the best thing about this beer is the cap! redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Pours a very clear rich golden color with very little head. Aroma is nothing special... perhaps a little grass in there with some light malt. Flavor is caramel malt and an ever so slight grass flavor. Better than 98, not as good as 97.
12 oz. bottle.
