The countdown to 100 continues with this refreshingly bright Munich Style Helles Lager. Every glass of malty gold is topped with an aromatic cloud of mild, Hallertau hoppiness. Its slightly sweet finish is perfectly suited for any celebration. Prosit!

Pours a clear straw, with a big white head. No lacing. Flavor is citrus, banana and spice. Palate is heavy, carbonated and dry.

12oz Bottle – 99 Bottles – Federal Way, WA – Nice wheat malt flavor and aroma. This was nice lager and easy to drink light with the spices. Easy drinking beer for a hot summer day.

Golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of eucalyptus, cornstalk and must. Sounds inviting, doesn’t it? Taste of pale malts, mild sweet malts, grain and corn. Not a big fan of this style and this wasn’t a good rendition of it either.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear gold color with a white head. Smelled of hay, cereal grain, pale malt, and grassy hops. Light bodied and delicately sweet with pale malt, grass, and hay flavors. Not awful. Actually went well with my barbeque.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a dense, lasting, off-white head. The nose is a dusty, sweet and grainy with a touch of grassy/floral hops in the background. The palate is light and soft, almost creamy, until you hit a crisp metallic finish. Sweet, grainy malt with a touch of floral hops at the clean finish. I would prefer this any day over most pale lagers, but it is not a particularly tasty rendition of the style.

12oz bottle. Beer pours a shiny light golden color, with a medium foamy white head and lots of lacing. It smells of cracker malt and cereal grains. The taste has a lot more of the cereal malt, with a light floral hoppiness. It is smooth with light carbonation and a strong grainy aftertaste. Good drinking beer.

12oz in Bordeaux glass. After trying a Spaten Premium on draft, I was really hoping to find a similar beer from a little closer to home. The Shiner product is just too sweet to be really enjoyable. If the malt character was pushed up, the sweetness would be justified.
