Has a light, spicy black pepper smell. Light bodied with a lively mouthfeel. Taste is light lagar grainy, spicy black pepper. Has a clean crisp after taste.
Your basic pale lagar here, for $4.23 a sixer it’s fresh and competively priced with the BMC crowd.Sept 2004

While it’s not terrible...it certianly does not have much flavor. Has that bitter sort of after bite that many subpar lagers tend to carry. Won’t be flifin’ my hard earned cash on this one anytime soon. PickettsCharge (68), USA

Good drinkability. fawman101 (7), College Station, Texas, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Very good. Almost tastes like a like. If you go with the Spoetzl Brewery though, stick to the darker stuff. wshores (57), Saltillo, Texas, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 1, 2007 I didn’t have any real problems with the Shiner Blonde (bottle). It was pretty much a regular ol’ beer, but it had a certain sweetness that seemed to distinguish it from others. Of course, it was also pretty ripe, and I caught a whiff of that nasty grass/hay smell a couple times. I drank this at a tailgate, and, given the situation, Shiner Blonde wasn’t too bad. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Aug 30, 2007 Pours thin, no head, no lace. Smells like a weak pilsner with grass and corn smells. Fizzy mouthful, grassy taste. Agree that this could be a macro brew. Disappointing compared to the bock.
