Jul 22, 2006 Updated: Jul 23, 2006Drank this one from a clear glass mug that originated as a 12 oz bottle. I consumed this with fresh picked sweet corn purchased from a roadside vendor just north of Hillsboro Ohio. Aroma was faint yeast and hops. Appearance was pale golden yellow with a nice white head. Flavor was a typical watery pale lager/pilsner taste. I actually think it tasted exactly like Michelob. It was cold, wet and refreshing - akin to drinking a cold glass of water on a hot day.

Jul 16, 2006 Gold color with a big white head. Grainy malt aroma. Weak sweet grainy malt flavor. Pretty drinkable.

Jul 7, 2006 Can 42F Flute, light straw aroma, mixed with sweetness and a touch of soap. hops are not noticible. Light gold color with very little head or lacing, not much to speak of. Very light taste with slightly sweet nuances, its drinkable but not dry enough on the finish to be quaffable. Starts good and finishes light and flabby. Hops are very slight on the finish, Palate is light as is carbonation. Tolerable beer but nothing to right home about but hey $4 a sixer who can complain.

Jun 13, 2006 It is a clear light yellow, rather light in body, a little sweet, but a strange Shiner aftertaste. A light crisp start, it is better at the start than the finish.

Jun 4, 2006 Yellow, almost no head. Citrusy, toasty aroma. Some mild bready flavors, and crisp but faint hop bite. Not really a whole lot to this, but nothing inherently wrong with it either.

Jun 2, 2006 Ok, don’t expect much and when you don’t get much, things work out all the better. Sampled a couple ounces of this in the local liquor store. Appearance was light golden (can’t judge a head from a small sample) and the flavor light and sweet (some corn aftertaste). Balanced beer but too light on the flavor.

Jun 1, 2006 This is probably the weakest offering from Shiner, but is still better then most micros of this style. A bit too sweet for some people but very enjoyable for others.
