Flavor is somewhat empty. I’m not entirely sure what a blonde ale is supposed to be. Usually, when brewpubs offer a blonde ale, it’s just an excuse to make the buttwiper clone that they know will sell remarkably well with the alcoholic smoker. Is Shiner serious with that description? ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Mar 5, 2005 Cheap fizzy soda beer. Tastes like skunky old moldy grains with a light honey note. Texture is thin, total BMC mouthfeel. I had a really old bottle but I honestly don’t see how that would make much of a difference. Simon (40), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 31, 2005 Thin short-lasting white head that leaves very little lacing. Ho-hum in the flavor department, not much different than any other domestic American lager. I’ll never choose this one over it’s Bock sibling again. MrBunn (1538), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 25, 2005 Not a whole lot to describe. Looks very thin out of the bottle, extremely pale and transparent. Nice carbonation builds into a white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is weak... Taste is more like you would expect from a mass produced macrobrew like Bud or Miller. Directionless and rather weak. Fortunately it was on sale for a mere $5.00 which might still be a little high. Could be worse. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 24, 2005 bottle-pours a very pale yellow golden hue with a nice sudsy white head. vigerous carbonation. german hop, spritzy, hay, grass aroma that was much better than i expected. grassy hop flavors with some trix, bread, cereal. thin body but thats to be expected. a decent beer that was not offensive in any way. could be a decent lawnmower beer. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Has some malty and hops aftertones. The color of you know what. I like the Bock but the blonde did not impress me at all. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 1, 2004 Light Gold Coloring. Not My Style So Hard to Be Merciful On This One. Lightly Bitter...And Sweet Right in the Beginning. Some Grain and Hops.. Not Terribly Horrible...But Trying to Be. KAggie97 (2460), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 31, 2004 If Shiner doesn’t watch out, it will gain a reputation as an overpriced version of your choice of mass brewers. This stuff, while slightly better than the aforementioned, is still overpriced for what you get. If you’re gonna fork over $7 for a six pack, get a REAL German lager, not a pale immitation. Pun intended.
