Pours out brown but you can see right through it. Absolutley no head, not a very good looking beer. Aroma is weak sweetness and that is about it. Taste is again some sweet malt with a kind of slightly funky teriaki thing going on. I have to say this is a pretty big dissapointment. I have friends who love this stuff. (Sigh) I guess they really don’t know what good craft beer is.......yet. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

Seriously thought, its not that bad, but its not that good. Very watery, not too much in the way of flavor, except for some malt, and with the low ABV, its not even good for getting drunk. asedzie (457), San Francisco, California, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear deep amber with thin white head. Pleasant caramel malt aroma. Flavor is lightly grainy, lightly sweet-syrupy, but has a distracting trace of corn-like adjunct. Finish has a very faint hint of bitter flavor. Palate lively, but a bit thin. rodneykm (109), Westminster, South Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 27, 2008 It was ok - dark with a "not quite as rich as advertised" flavor. Not gonna buy this guy again but I’m sure someone out there will get some value out of it. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 26, 2008 A nice dark amber pour from a 12 ounce bottle. A nice sized dirty white head with modest lacings. Closer to a macro than a micro. Nice malting with minimal hop notes. Reminds me of an A-B offering called Andecker (sp?) from the early 70’s. It was a tasty somewhat sweet beer that went away rather quickly. Didn’t taste like Bud. Wouldn’t seek this out but would agree to drinking one if offered. Certainly not a bad product. Worth a try. celebravar (10), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2008 i dont know what to say. i know this beer is nothing special. its not terrible though either. it does have some flavor, although definitely not a true bock. its a pretty good beer to buy if you plan on drinking a fair amount. Last night i had three celebrator doppelbock, which is one of my favorites. feeling a bit drunk the flavor started to become a little much to me. so i grabbed a shiner and it went down very smoothly. well all six of them did actually. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2008 I recently had my first bottle of Shiner Bock and have to say it wasn’t all bad. Yes, it was light bodied and relatively bland, but what flavor was there was decent and it reminded me a bit of Newcastle. For its price, I can think of far worse beers than Shiner Bock and wouldn’t hesitate to pick a sixer up when introducing light beer fans to what they call "dark beer". This one is proof that a darker hue doesn’t always mean stronger flavor.
