Dark amber with fizzy, disappearing white head / No nose / Light, high carbonated body / Weak coca cola, caramel flavors, with light fizzy finish / Lot of fizz.

Aroma is mild aluminum and a little sweet corn/malt. Brownish colored with nice red hues and no head. Flavor is mild sweetness with crisp hops. A little corn and generic sweet malt flavor. Mouthfeel is pleasant, as the carbonation tickles the tongue and the hops are nice and crisp.

Head dies quickly, lite brown in color. Malty biscuity body that unfortunately has an odd tinny finish. And OK, cheap, session beer.

12 oz bottle, Stateline Liquors. Pours a crystal clear light brown body under a small fizzy off-white head that faded quickly to a partial film. Aroma is of toasted malt with a hint of coffee and nuttiness. A little bit of corn also. The flavor is fairly grainy and thin with some corn and toasted malt. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with lots of fizzy forced carbonation. Overall, this was just as thin and watery as expectd.

Bottle: Poured a reddish-brown amber with white color head. The aroma was sweet hoppy malt. The taste was full flavored and a bit bitter, however over all finished rather smooth. My friend from Dallas swears by this beer!

Light malty flavor with a light mouth feel. Honey and apple qualities stand out in the flavor. Color is deep amber with a minor head. Aroma is lightly malty.

If you’re not expecting too much, Shiner is not bad. Except when it is. If the choice at a backyard BBQ is Shiner or Bud/Miller/Coors/Corona/etc., I’ll take the Shiner every time. However, the quality can be uneven -- sometimes you’ll come across a really skunky one.
