Initially the carbination is prevalent, then settles into a cola-tasting beverage. Dixon (31), Iowa, USA

When I saw the nice dark amber color I thought I was on to something good. Was I ever surprised! Bland and tasteless are the only 2 words I can think of to describe this beer. pitboss743 (14), USA

Grainy, aroma with some hops. malty, caramel taste, some breadiness but leaves an unpleasant bitterness. A bit thin and macro tasting but not terrible. RJBennett (52), Hibbing, Minnesota, USA

Small white head with tiny bubbles and almost no lacing. Smells a bit malty and musty. Flavor is sweet, mildly grainy, with a slight hop and spice aftertaste. I prefer some of their other styles (Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Dunkelweizen) over this, but it’s still tasty. imbiberAZ (21), USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 24, 2007 The price is always right for Shiner’s Bock so I pick up 6-pak bottles about 3 times a year including recently. I wouldn’t call it decent. I feel sorry for it. It’ s like the little beer that couldn’t. There’s the very faint nose of fullness and richness, but it’s not complete. It poured decent and dark but it must’ve be artificial coloring because the body is thin. Taste also has echoes of possible greatness but thin and watery on palate. Flavor is decent but far away. What I’m trying to say is this could easily, with some love and attention, be a great beer, but it’s mediocre and seems allright with it. If I had to tuneup my car I wouldn’t even buy this if it was 3.99, I’d buy modelo especial in cans.
