Pours a dark copper color with thin off white head. Aroma is of caramel and sweet malt, not much hop profile here. Taste is intense caramel malt, light toasted grain and some metallic flavor. Moderate carbonation but it’s definitely lacking something. Blech.

Nov 29, 2009 Blah...finally rating this and yes, it is as bad as I remember. Aroma was so so. Light caramel malt and not much else. Pour was a nice deep dark amber with a one finger off white head.Taste was very sweet but very weak. Tasted like a dark malt tea with sugar added. Decent carbonation with a wet sticky aftertaste. Not a beer I will have again if I can help it

Nov 29, 2009 12 oz bottle-pours a disappearing off white head and amber color. Aroma is paper, spice hops, caramel-medium malt. Taste is caramel-light malt, paper, spice hops. OK effervescence.

Nov 28, 2009 Pours a thin amber with a white head. It has a faint aroma of malted barley, but the hops are fairly indiscernible. It tastes of lightly roasted barley with a hint of bitter hops. It has a slight metallic aftertaste. This beer has a fairly thin mouthfeel, and is neither exceptional nor bad. I’d drink it again, but it’s not on the top of my list at the same time.

Nov 20, 2009 Pours clear copper color with minimal off white head that dissipates quickly. Malty aroma. Swet caramel malt flavor. Medium body with average carbonation. Easy drinking and unoffensive.

Nov 17, 2009 On draft at Cheddars - Draft seems to be better then in bottles. Aroma was okay, malty but low hop aroma. Head disappeared quickly with no lacing, but plenty of carbonation when drinking. color was dark and then red when tilting glass. Real good taste with balanced blend with hops and malt. I think being a draft made the difference. Good American dark lager.

Nov 16, 2009 Deep amber clear color with almost no head. Light malt scents. Medium bodied with a slight water feel. Caramel malt flavors on mouth with a quick finish.

Nov 15, 2009 Pours a brownish red with offwhite head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and some hopiness. Overall taste is light but has a sweetness and some hops. Maybe some butterscotch. Light mouthfeel but with a creamy texture.

Nov 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a very nice dark amber color with an off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is almost all straw, so no points for that. The taste is a tad grassy with some hops and some malt. Very balanced. The palate isn’t overcarbonated or syrupy.
A good session beer without question.
