| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Pours a darkish red amber with a tan head. Not much aroma. Flavor is smokey with a bit of coffee and malt. Hoppy aftertaste. Not bad. Retired, but I’d be willing to bet it will be back. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Late June/Early July 2008: Shiner Dunkel Weizen has a filtered dark amber appearance. There is a fleeting khaki head and a moderate to generous level of carbonation. The aroma has caramel wheat and hints of banana and sweet roast. The flavor is very similar with sweet caramelized wheat malt, bread crust, and a hint of banana. It is kind of sweet like a brown ale. It has a medium-light body and subtle mouthfeel.
12 fl. oz. bottle (twist-off) from Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. Rating #219 for this beer.

This is probably the best thing I ever had from Shiner, a nice example of the dunkel style, with a light but highly drinkable flavor combination. chadzter (94), huntsville, Alabama, USA

Nice amount of lacing.Has a sweet malt, and wheat with a hint of brown sugar aroma. The taste is pretty much the same along with a hint of caramel and raisins. Has a smooth and crisp finish. not much else to say. Hbuck72 (124), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA
