Malty aroma and taste, with some chocolate notes. Pretty balanced though. Not really a typical dunkleweizen, but a pretty interesting and refreshing beer. One of the better beers from Shiner. ehhdayton (1113), USA

The flavor aroma has a light wiff of banana and a more dominant roasted malt. The flavor has a slight roastiness and finishes with a moderate body. Tmoney99 (4751), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a huge light brown head that diminished slowly and produced excellent lacing. Good roasted malty aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Good malty balanced flavor with an average finish. Soft drinkable brew. Quixote18 (230), Johnson City, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2006 Bottled. Light chestnut brown color with a short-lasting tan head. The aroma was barely perceptable, but of mildly tangy malt. The flavor was fuller and bolder than I expected based on the arome, but that’s not saying much. Decently hoppy and balanced. It had a medium-to-light body. Overall not a bad beer, but can’t hold a candle to some of the top quality Dunkelweizens. graham515 (428), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a fizzy dark brown color with a small khaki head that faded quickly. The aroma was moderate roasty malts and a hint of chocolate. The flavor was tangy and bitter with a slightly roasty middle and a light dry chocolate element on the finish. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 25, 2006 Medium amber with copper highlights, small but decent head. Aroma lightly of wheat, a hair of green apple. Flavor has a bit of very light caramel, a note of bread, very faint clove tries to peak in, but perhaps that was my imagination. Not bad, but not great. Sort of has that "starter beer for beginners" feel. But the carbonation is a bit harsh perhaps for that to really work. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Actually not a horrible beer. Body is brown with a thin bubbly head. Aroma is a bit of caramel, wheat, but still has that cheap beer smell. Taste is a bit sweet, a bit overcarbonated, tastes like a wheat brown.
