Sweet, winey aroma. Rich, roasted flavor, but not like a porter. Like bread crust, slightly bitter. The finish is mildly buttery, not too lingering. I think it’s a bit over-carbonated, but I like it. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

I had to go to Shiner to get this. Good aroma and great roasted flavor. I really liked this beer. I wish I could find this in my hometown TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Nose is dark bready notes, some cocoa, light caramel, and faint banana. Taste is dark bread, light caramel, cocoa, some wheat notes and dried fruits. Body is meidum with some strong carbonation notes. Finishes with more bready notes, some fainter caramel, more dried fruit, and grains. shrubber85 (2911), Wallhalben, Germany

Clear reddish brown color with moderate head. Syrupy sweet malt flavor with hints of cherry and banana - a bit cloying. Could start a new style - Kristall dunkelweizen - as this is obviously filtered. A nice tasting beer overall and a decent American version of the style. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Not bad, but if you want a really good Shiner beer, try the Shiner 97 Bohemian Black Lager (schwarzbier). That stuff is fine. cheapdark (2017), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Delicious turpentine tastedbud initial whammy. Appears nice transparent brown in my steeler stein. Finish is medium carbonation with just a slight (if any) bitter aftertaste.
