Aroma of candy, fruit and caramel. Slightly bitter with roasty malt. Sweet finish. Decent mouth and smooth. Don’t know if it was because I had a bad day at work, but I really enjoyed this brew. twindog (98), Hampstead, Maryland, USA

Carbonation is the primary flavor, with a very light hint of roasted flavor at the end. Almost no aftertaste, except for an odd metal taste, and no lingering body feel in the mouth after swallowing to speak of. Okay, but nothing special. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA

The tent is clear with a minimal head, very bitter taste and salty. light body, soft carbonation and a very bitter after taste. Overall Impression; the smell hits the mark, however; the taste is a little off. Still a very good effort at a traditional German beer. blutt59 (2172), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Okay Dunkel, but I expected more flavor. Kind of bitter, and different than other Dunkels that I have had - not as dark. Kind of malty, a little wheaty, but overall not a drop me on my knees beer.
