Flavor consists of light malts with some sweet caramel hints. Pretty basic. A bit thin on the palate. Not bad, but not good. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA

Muted in flavor as well. A bit of a chalky finish. I want better flavor and more depth - it just doesn’t do it for me. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 6, 2007 Updated: Nov 13, 2007Amber to crimson shades in a weizen glass with a tall beige head. Actually, a nice looking beer. Smell is a touch metal, very light roast malt. Taste is a bit watery, yet somewhat creamy, very mildly flavored with a lightly bitter and tart malt flavor. Not really getting a lot of wheat, really. Not too familiar with the style, but this probably isn’t the best example. Drinkable, but unremarkable. RSRIZZO (1368), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Had this beer on 5/19/1999. Color is a deep clear amber with very good carbonation and a thick rich head. Aroma is a pale malt scent with light tone of skunk. Taste is lighter than you would think, smooth, clean and refreshing. Starting with a medium body and a bubbly feel, it goes down giving you the start of a nice nutty malt flavor. The finish is a wonderful malt flavor back by a good hop flavor and a light hop bitterness that give the beer a dry feel. Its everything you could want in a winter brew. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Relatively nice looking, albeit somewhat lightish red pour. Quickly dissipating head. Flavor is of burnt malts and bread and is actually relatively enjoyable. Turns watery on the palate, and has a bit of a metallic taste right at the end. Still not a real bad beer, though I’ve had much better Dunkels... AmEricanbrew (1925), Wynot, Wyoming, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Reddish brown hue with an off white head. Sweet caramel and tart malt smell. Medium to heavy bodied. Rich, creamy mouthfeel. Caramel sweet flavor blends perfectly with a tart , slightly bitter roasted malt finish.
Smooth and easy drinking; the best dark wheat brew I’ve had in a long time. Very good. Dec 2004

Okay, first of all this is in no way a Dunkelweizen. This is not a cloudy unfiltered Weizen with a banana/ clove yeasty aroma ! It is a lie! That having been said, this beer without the erroneous title is really not that bad. If they were to say this is a Dunkles then I would say that this is a great Dunkels. Very malty with caramel malt.
