Commercial Description:
Shiner Dunkelweizen is a crisp, hearty brew modeled after a Bavarian-style dunkelweizen, German for dark wheat. Shiner Dunkelweizen is fermented with an old-world technique called Kräusening, brewed to be smooth and rich without being heavy on the palate. Its subtle flavors come from the brew’s malted wheat and malted barley. This beer uses the old Czech mashing technique of taking small portions of the mash and boiling, then mixing it back in the main mash. This technique, called ‘decotion’, takes a great deal more time... but develops the rich dark color and creates the body which is enjoyed in the finished beer.

Maybe the best beer SHINER makes. Toss up against their Kolsch. I really really enjoy this one. The taste is very very unique.

Bottle pour-Republic of Texas in San Antonio. Nice deep color. A nice balance between the lightness of a wheat brew with a deep maltiness. Mouthfeel/palate experience alone warrants giving this beer a try.

I always look forward to this winter seasonal form the Little Brewery in Shiner. I been a fan of this beer since the days of it’s original name Shiner Winter Fest. Nice malty feel and taste with a slight cocoa finish.

Poured a thin head which dissipated immediately. Really nice looking reddish amber color. Aroma is a dried fruit (raisin/prune) with hints of spice (clove/nutmeg). Light roasted nutty malt flavor. Overall... a really nice winter brew. I’m hooked.

Wow. This is impressive considering it is from Shiner. It has a very full flavor. It has good bite and aroma. Matter of fact, I swear I smelled a hint of chocolate. It is nice and dark, with decent head. Shiner should put this out year round. It is much better than their Bock.I plan on getting more before the winter fades.

Overall she is solid. Is it fair that I drank her in the middle of the summer? Haven't had a Winter Ale in a few months but it was a refreshing change from the brew I have been drinking lately. She is dark in complection and leaves some trace of head.

Bottle. Nice dark wheat beer, which are hard to find in this country. I had to go to Shiner to get this. Good aroma and great roasted flavor. I really liked this beer. I wish I could find this in my hometown

nice rich aroma, dark coffee color with a watery lace. the flavor is smooth with a nice oak flavor. the carbonation is a little strong, but the finish is outstanding for an american brew.of all the shiner products the best product i’ve tried
