This beer has a warm, bready smell, and a nice brown color. The commercial description is quite accurate--smooth and rich without being heavy on the palate. Generally, my predjudice is more toward a heavy taste, but this beer is quite good for being so light-tasting. The taste reminds me of toasted whole-grain bread.

Jun 29, 2008 poured a dark amber with beige head. aroma was strong with caramel malt. flavor was caramel and some dark roast. not bad need to try again with more time to rate.

May 12, 2008 Pours a mahogony, thick head. Smells like burnt roast, bread, caramel. Taste like citrus, malt, caramel, hint of coffee. Better straight out of the bottle.

May 1, 2008 Bottle from lb4lb. Pour is mahogany with a good off white head. Aroma of candy, fruit and caramel. Slightly bitter with roasty malt. Sweet finish. Decent mouth and smooth. Don’t know if it was because I had a bad day at work, but I really enjoyed this brew.
