Aug 1, 2008 Ha, the new label fooled me. Forgot this has been around for awhile. Really loved the nose on this beer. Similar to Hennepin... American take on a saison, which was more than I expected. More spicy/peppery that most hefe’s. Citrusy as well. Palate and taste did not follow through as I hoped it would. Solid, and underrated in my mind.

Jul 29, 2008 12oz bottle. Aroma: Wheat and pepper, yeast and a slight citrus note. Appearance: Medium gold in color and cloudy. White head was huge and foamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Light and grainy malt, peppery spiciness, some mild lemon flavor and yeast. The wheat sourness in this beer just overpowers everything else. A slight medicinal flavor in the finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: Not a terrible beer, but one I’ll never seek out again. Flavors were muddled and the sourness was just weird.

Jul 25, 2008 bottle - Pours hazy light yellow with a one finger white head. It smells mainly of citrus. It’s a sweet, light beer with some lemony notes. It’s refreshing enough as is common for the style, but ultimately unimpressive.

Jul 19, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pour is cloudy bronze. 1-finger head dissipated rather quickly. Aroma is wheat & yeast. Taste is more like a macro with a little sweet malt touch. Light body. I don’t get any lemon or citrus at all. Drinkable, but not my "mug of ale".

Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Yah, the addition of honey and orange and lemon peels makes this a Nichthefeweizen. Stale fusels and a boatload of orange rind in the nose, with lemon cleaner and light wheat. Cloudy yellow lemondrop body with a sort white head. Taste is crisp and refreshing but the lemon and orange notes cling to the teeth with a greasy zest and the drying, grittily yeasty aftertaste just seems amateurish. Just drenched in lemon cleaner. Added spice is nice but the malt base is just weak. I’ll have to admit I wouldn’t mind having it again, but then again, its such a cloying mess that I’ll have to wait a few years.

Jul 12, 2008 Not good. Bottle says to pour and squeeze some lemon in it and enjoy. Problem is that it tastes like someone already squeezed a lemon in it...and nasty old lemon at that.
