Commercial Description:
Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

12 oz bottle from the ever giving fridge. Cloudy yellow/light-orange with large quickly dissipating head. Aroma of sweet malt and lemon. Flavor is pretty sweet and so lemony, almost like a berlinerweisse and somewhat tart as well. Medium bodied and hotly carbonated. Interesting, pretty sweet but not as horrible as the average would suggest.

A satisfying, sweet wheat beer. I’m not big on the type, but this one was different enough to peak my interest. Cloudy pour, but a decent brew.

Ok I love wheat beers but this went waay overboard with the lemon flavoring. I added fresh lemon too as I usually do for Hefewizen’s and boy was that a mistake. It kinda of reminded me of Summer shandy but that was more subtle. It wasn’t horrible but it is one wheat I don’t think I would buy again. I didn’t taste the honey or orange at all. Still worlds better then something from the US Macro brewers.

I have a special place in my heart for the Spoetzl people, but this Hefe is not good.

thanks to holdenn for leaving this in my fridge and allowing me to rate it on an early thursday afternoon. pours hazy lemon with white head. nose is oddly lemony with an underlying citrus. flavor is tart lemons. not much else. where’s the orange, banana, and cloves? not only is this not a hefe but it’s also pretty crappy.

Lemony flavor already no extra needed Citrus and acidic. I like to drink it when I want something different. Mix with Black Lager just for fun

A golden couldy with a thin white head. Wheat, citrus, and floral whiff at the nose. The taste is really lemony with wheat and yeast coming in second. The finish is slightly bitter.
