Pours a pale yellow color with a big bubbly head that quickly dissapates. Nose is sour and wheat like. Mouthfeel is odd and unpleasant and has an odd unbalanced bitter aftertaste. No thanks. In addition, I should add that this is completely disgusting and almost undrinkable. To call this beer a hefeweizen makes me want to slap the head brewer. I could go on and on about how angry this beer makes me but to be honest I am just going got say that there is no excuse for this. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 27, 2007 (Tap) Pours a hazy pale yellow color with medium white head. Light citrus and bready aroma. Notes of grain, lemon and grass in the taste. Weak palate, to say the least. Overall, not a big fan of this beer. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 26, 2007 The Shiner hefeweizen (bottle) is some light, filtered, generally nasty beer. The smell is heavy on the wheat, weak on the fruit, and even weaker on the citrus. The taste is pretty ripe, but not "ripe" like some good hefes, "ripe" like Busch (vaguely grassy and rotten). There is a little sourness, but it doesn’t have the refreshing crispness and bite of a standard summer brew. Of course, comparing this to a good hefe is really unfair as it’s not really a hefe at all, but I still thought this was pretty awful. llcooldave (328), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Tasted without the lemon. Poured a golden yellow. Head was extremely foamy but with no real lacing. Slight Hoppy aroma with a clean hops taste. As the beer warmed it developed a nice citrus aftertaste. Overall I’d probably drink this again. purduebacchus (39), USA
