Shiner Hefeweizen (Hef-ay-vite-zen) is a classic unfiltered Bavarian-style wheat brew. Once poured into a glass, the distinctively cloudy Shiner Hefeweizen delivers a fresh, satisfying flavor from start to finish.

Draft. Cloudy pour with small head. A bit weak in flavor, a little watery, but crisp flavor and not too bad.

I’ll argue this beer to the grave, I’m a bit biased since it was my first hefe and I tend to love the ol’ brewery in Shiner, but I find this beer refreshing and light enough to share several with friends.

What a label. 12 oz twist off cap. I was waiting awhile to taste this. Clean city water aroma, perhaps a bit metallic. Taste is lagerlike with a metallic hint. Good palate, nice carbonation. Finish is not offensive but has a bit of lingering alcohol. A little rough for a hefe. Rates there with Penn Weizen.

Bottle. Although I usually prefer lagers, this is one ale style I truly love. Nice head that quickly dissipates. Kind of fruity aroma. Wonderful cloudy appearance. Not as good as a German weissbier but, pretty good all the same.

Bottle 46F Weizen Glass. Light sweet aroma slighty soapy, a touch of cloves and sweetness. Light cloudy color with a light white head that lasts decently with decent lacing. Crisp taste, with a slighty sweet finish. Not a bad hefe but nothing special, palate is quite watery.

Appearance looks traditional, pale, hazy and a thin head with good lacing. Faint banana nose, bread and bananas in the palate. Watery finish. No lemon added by me , man-rules call for no fruit. Thanks for the trade Ron.
